On April 7th, CESES held its Monthly Members Meeting on a topic shaping the future of our sector: “AI – Challenges and Opportunities for Senior Expert Volunteers.”

The discussion explored how artificial intelligence is already impacting volunteering and civic engagement—from streamlining workflows and enhancing project design to raising ethical concerns around transparency, bias, and human-centered approaches. Members reflected on how senior expert volunteers can stay engaged, adapt to digital changes, and even play a role in shaping responsible AI use within their organisations.

As AI tools continue to evolve, so too must our understanding and strategies. A big thank you to all members who joined the conversation and shared their insights!
